Did you go to the University of Phoenix to become a teacher?

I am thinking of taking online courses through the University of Phoenix. My plan is to obtain my Bachelor’s to meet the degree requirement of obtaining my teaching credential so I can go on to teach elementary school.

The University of Phoenix is on the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing Approved Professional Preparation Programs, and I wanted to hear from other UOP Alumns who went on to teach. What was your experience like? Did your school district second guess your College Degree from the University of Phoenix?

I’ve read all the UOP bashing, so please only reply if you can have gone to UOP to become a teacher.

Of course I would like to go to a regular classroom, but I just don’t have the flexibility to go to class, work full time, and take care of my wife and 2 year old girl. The University of Phoenx seems to be my best route at this point.
