chikeymonky asked: I am interested in working as a elementary and high school counselor. Then eventually I would like to work at a college/university as an advisor or program director. Which masters degree would be most beneficial for this? I have considered a masters in school counseling. Should I look more into other degrees, like educational psychology or higher education?

daisy chains asked: Are you an employer? If you had two equally qualified applicants and one went to a brick-and-mortar college and the other earned an online degree, which would you hire?
Or have you earned an online degree? If so, what has been your experience in finding good employment? If not, why have you opted not to earn an online degree?
Share your stories either way? Thanks.
If you have earned an online degree, from which institution have you earned it? Your experiences with that particular institution? Thanks.

I own a small business and am getting the degree for myslf but was wondering if at some point if I decided to get a job somewhere else if it would matter so much where I got the degree. How is the University of Phoenix business program different from a State University or other business schools. How is online education viewed by corporate america.

Ryan G asked: I am currently working full-time and would like to earn my undergraduate degree online from a reputable institution. My goal is to eventually take a break from work and relocate in order to get my master’s/doctorate from an Ivy League/Top 10 school. Would it be feasible for me to get into one of these schools with an online degree? Can anyone recommend some good schools that offer online degrees that would look good when I apply for graduate school?

eiwo2so asked: Will a business company or management hires someone with a bachelor degree of psychology?
do you think many companies just want to see that you have a degree? will a company hire you with a bachelor degree in psychology, say a position such as manager.
and do you think having a business certificate next to a bachelor degree of psychology helps? such as a certificate in database or accounting ..etc will get me a job with computer field.

mlaw925 asked: I have my bachelor’s degree, but I decided to take night accounting courses while working over the past few years. I just moved to California from NY and I was told I could take courses at a school out here but now that I am out here, they are saying I cannot (no room in 2 of the 4 courses I wanted to take). I need one of them, so I want to take it online at University of Phoenix. How does it work? And since it’s not for a degree and only to fulfill CPA exam credit requirements, I would want to get credit for it.
Oh…and the courses I am taking are just undergrad courses. I got my degree in International Relations and decided to shift gears after college. Oh well.

SunshineT asked: I have a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, Business Admin. from a pretty decent university, however, I have just decided to become a Nurse (obtaining an associate’s degree from a technical college). So what I’ll probably end up with is two bachelor degrees. Can anyody give me some advice on whether the route I’m taking is counterproductive?
